Working Vintage Late 1950s Blue Bird Manual Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Made in Western Germany

Working Blue Bird manual portable typewriter in London (U.K.). The typewriter was manufactured in the late 1950s, in Western Germany. Despite being a sixty years old machine, it works reasonably good! The sturdy keys deliver a sense of reliability and enjoyment to the typists whilst typing . This German typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon so it is ready for immediate use. Also comes with the original case which has a comfortable handle.

The typewriter has undergone a sympathetic restoration and all its original features are preserved. Please note that there is some wear and tear to the typewriter. Also, the case locks on the latch, but the zip does not work on one side of the case. Please refer to the attached photos. The typewriter might skip some letters occasionally when typing.

This cool coloured Blue Bird would be ideal to inspire beginners in learning to touch type by using a creative, non-electronic piece of engineering. The typewriter would also make a unique gift. Due to the style and aesthetics of the typewriter, it can be used for display purposes like home decor and events such as exhibitions. It would appeal to all generations.
